Rustic and Polyacrylate – Two Types of Terrazzo and their Unique Characteristics<\/strong><\/h2>\n

There is no denying that terrazzo has established itself as one of the most, if not the most reliable and ideal flooring material and system in the market today, moreover there are different types of terrazzo, each one with its own set of characteristic that make it ideal for a specific use.\u00a0 This is why a great majority of builders, contractors and designers all prefer terrazzo over any other flooring material.\u00a0 Firstly, terrazzo is extremely durable and long lasting.\u00a0 And secondly because it is uniquely versatile and can be used in any type of climate condition, and because it is extremely customisable, it can be used for other kinds of flooring or surface installations including terrazzo art.<\/p>\n

Rustic Terrazzo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rustic terrazzo is the most ideal to use in outdoor spaces among all the different types of terrazzo.\u00a0 It has a textured, coarse surface that is extremely slip resistant without sacrificing the elegance that other types of terrazzo can bring into indoor applications.\u00a0 As with all textured type of flooring systems, rustic terrazzo is perfect for outdoor installations such as the surrounding areas for swimming pools, park pathways, and commercial establishments, outdoor areas for hotels, hospitals and even airports.\u00a0 Rustic terrazzo like all the other types of terrazzo has a virtually limitless number of designs depending on composite materials used.\u00a0 Rustic terrazzo has a total thickness of half an inch to six inches inclusive of the 0.5 inch allocated for the terrazzo topping.<\/p>\n

Polyacrylate Terrazzo<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main advantage of using polyacrylate terrazzo over the other types of terrazzo it can be used in both indoor and outdoor installations.\u00a0 And because of its composition, polyacrylate is a breathable material meaning it will not be negatively affected by moisture vapours when used for outdoor applications.\u00a0 This is because an acrylic additive is assimilated into the mixture which allows it to be poured as thinly or as thickly as needed.\u00a0 Additionally, with polyacrylate terrazzo, glass chips can be incorporated into the mix.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
