It\u2019s interesting how we often go overboard when we purchase home improvement materials, such as floor tiles. There have been countless instances when we see piles upon piles of tiles leftover from a construction, because the owner purchased more than what was recommended. So heard this question from our customers time and time again: what can I do with these leftover tiles?<\/span><\/h2>\n

The logical answer would be to proceed to your store and ask for a refund or a store credit. Unfortunately, sometimes this is not possible because the tiles were pre-ordered and the store does not carry it in stock. Also, just because we produce terrazzo tiles doesn\u2019t mean we can buy your leftover and excess floor tiles off you. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re stuck with leftover tiles, here are creative ways to use them instead of just letting them go to waste. <\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Adorn table tops \u2013 Something can be said about the interesting designs on tiles and how they can accentuate your table tops. You can cover your plain wooden table tops with interest tile designs, and immediately transform an old table to a work of art. <\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Make unique coasters \u2013 Using coaster not only saves your table from unsightly watermarks, but also make for interesting pieces and conversation starters come dinner time. Ask your craftsman to divide your floor tiles into the ideal shape, and polish them off for a more creative look.<\/span><\/p>\n

3.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Use stencils \u2013 Once you use stencils and get creative, the possibilities with tiles become endless. You can customize each piece of tile and turn it into an attractive thingamajig that you can place strategically all over your home.<\/span><\/p>\n

4.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Create your own \u201cbrick road\u201d \u2013 Remember how Dorothy walks on a brick road to get home? You can convert your leftover tiles into a brick pavement by breaking the pieces and using cement to accentuate them. This way, your heels won\u2019t have to sink on the mud when you walk through your garden in the rain, and you\u2019ll get a creative pathway that is uniquely yours.<\/span><\/p>\n

5.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Use floor tiles for your partitions \u2013 Yes, they\u2019re supposed to be for flooring, but if the design of the leftover tiles complement the ones on your floor, then you can repurpose them for your partitions. Ask your contractor if this is possible and try to see how it would look like if it is finished. <\/span><\/p>\n

6.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Use them externally \u2013 We\u2019re pretty sure you can find some uses for your tiles outdoors. Some of our clients would use the tiles to adorn a back wall, while some would repurpose them on their porches. The most common use of spare tiles we found is how homeowners would create steps in their garden, aside from laying a solid pathway.<\/span><\/p>\n

7.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Beautify a mirror \u2013 Whether you\u2019re using leftover floor tiles or a different kind, you can break them into tiny pieces and craft them together to create a border for your bathroom mirrors. You can just stick the tiles in place, or bond them together with the mirror. Whatever the case, mirrors can benefit from a facelift that is made possible by pretty tiles. <\/span><\/p>\n

8.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Make your trays prettier \u2013 We all have plain trays that can do with a coat or two of paint \u2013 but why stop there when you can use leftover tiles? This doesn\u2019t just add uniqueness to your home, but also adds character to your belongings, particularly when it comes to making a favourable impression. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

9.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>Have a unique photo album \u2013 How so? Use floor tiles as your personal album \u2013 you can stick pictures of your family on each slab and display them in your home. This is a unique home d\u00e9cor that only you would have \u2013 and it\u2019s going to be perfect if you want to get rid of those tiles! <\/span><\/p>\n

These are just some of the ways you can repurpose your excess floor tiles and turn them into something more interesting.
